A duo of Lakewood’s Bravest have spearheaded an effort to directly help those effected by Hurricane Harvey. 28 year Lakewood Fire Department veterans Jeff Kantorak and Dave Paydock will be personally delivery good donated by local businesses to those effected by Hurricane Harvey. Jeff is an owner operator of a tractor trailer who hauls recycled materials for Recycle-It LLC. Jeff approached Paul W. Osad, Vice President of Recycle-It LLC and graciously offered to drive to Houston with his tractor and trailer, at his expense, with donated supplies to assist in the recovery effort for Houston.
Members of the Lakewood Firefighters Local 382 immediately jumped at the opportunity to help and donated money to cover all fuel expenses for the trip to Texas. We are honored to be able to support a couple of our own members in their efforts to help others in need.
Many area business have had an outpouring of support in donating items. We would like to thank those businesses for their generosity: MARC’S, 620 Corporation, Medina Paper Co. Premier Development, Castek Aluminum, Jami Cahlik of State Farm, and Harlon Erwin-Mystic Imports.
Jeff and Dave will be hauling diapers, water and other needed clothing items to the Houston area. Thanks to all who took part in this great effort of relief, to help the people affected by Hurricane Harvey.
