(Saturday February 6, 2016 B-Shift)
Lakewood Fire Companies were dispatched for a report smoke coming from a roof 1200 block of Hall Ave. at approximately 18:49.
Upon arrival on scene E2 reported smoke showing from the attic/roof. Engine 2 stretched an 1.75 pre-connect line to the attic and was assigned fire attack. Engine 2 encountered high heat conditions in the attic and discovered the fire was in the walls and ceiling. Companies began opening up the void spaces and extinguishing the fire. The fire burned throw to the attic floor creating a hazard. Engine 3 was instructed to pull a second line to the second floor. The house was occupied at the time of the fire. The occupant was quickly found and removed from the residence. The fire was contained and all companies checked for extension.
There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Rock River Engine 64 was called in on mutual aid to assist Lakewood Companies in fire suppression.
