High Rise Fire at The Waverly.

(Saturday July 25, 2015 A-Shift)

Lakewood Fire companies were dispatched to The Waverly at approximately 19:00 Saturday evening for reports of a suite on fire.

Upon arrival Car 2 reported smoke showing from the 5th floor bravo side of the building. Truck 1 was assigned attack and took the high rise packs up to the 4th floor to make the connections at the standpipe. Engine 2 arrived on scene as was assigned back up to Truck 1 and to help them get the line in service. Truck 1 captain reported the fire was on the 5th floor and reported the occupants were out of the suite. The standpipe connections wee made and the line was advanced to the fire suite. Truck 1 and Engine 2 located the fire in the bedroom of the suite and extinguished it. Engine 3 searched the 6th floor and checked for extension. Lakewood companies overhauled the suite. No fire extension was found and the fire was contained to the suite of origin.

Mutual aid was called to assist in fire suppression. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
