Lakewood Firefighters Battle House Fire on Emily Ave.

(Wednesday August 19, 2015 B-Shift)

Lakewood Fire companies were dispatched to the 2200 block of Emily Ave for multiple reports of smoke coming from a house.

Upon arrival Car 2 reported smoke showing from second floor window Alpha side of a 2-1/2 story single family residence. Truck 1 was assigned attack and took an 1-3/4 hose line to the second floor of the structure. Truck 1 found fire in a second floor bedroom and extinguished it. Truck one reported the the fire may have extending in the wall form the 1st floor. Engine 3 pulled a second line and extinguished fire on the first floor. Engine 2 was assigned search. All companies checked for extension and overhaul. Medic 2 assisted in the initial search and located the family pet and brought him out to safety.

Mutual aid was called to assist in fire suppression. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
