Lakewood’s Bravest Battle Attic Fire on Ethel Ave.

(Saturday January 16, 2016 B-Shift)

Lakewood Fire Companies were dispatched for a reported structure fire on the 1200 block of Ethel Ave. Saturday evening at 21:22.

Upon arrival on scene E2  reported fire showing from the attic extending through the roof of a 2.5 story wood frame residential structure. Engine 2 stretched an 1.75 pre-connect line to the attic and was assigned fire attack. Engine 3 was instructed to pull a second line and knock down the fire from the exterior. Engine 2 made the attic and quickly extinguished the fire and began overhaul. Engine 4 assisted Engine 2 and was assigned to search the residence. All occupants were reported out of the house and all companies assisted in overhaul. Fire was placed under control by the incident commander.

There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Rock River Engine 64 was called in on mutual aid to assist Lakewood Companies in fire suppression.
