House fire on Richland Ave.

(Sunday June 28, 2015 A-Shift)

Lakewood Fire companies were dispatched to the 2000 block of Richland Sunday evening for reports of smoke coming from a house.

Upon arrival Car 2 reported smoke showing from a single family 2 story structure. Truck 1 arrived on scene and pulled an 1-3/4 to the front door. Engine 2 arrived on scene and was assigned first floor search and to assist Truck 1 with getting the line in place. Truck 1 advanced the line through the front door and encountered fire in the first floor, they quickly extinguished the fire. Searches were made by Engine 2 and Engine 3. Truck 1 reported that there was fire in the basement, Engine 2 deployed a second line to the rear of the structure and advanced it into the basement. Engine 2 encountered some fire in the front of the structure below the 1st floor fire and extinguished it.

Companies overhauled and checked for hot spots. Mutual aid was called to assist in fire suppression. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
